A Call to Prayer

12:00 Noon (in whatever Time Zone you are in)

We are calling Influencers all across this land to use your influence to get believers praying for this election and for our country.  We are calling all believers to a dedicated time of prayer at 12:00 Noon on Friday, November 2nd, for one hour.  From the East Coast to the West Coast, there will be a 4 hour wave of Prayer for our country.

We encourage you to take the lead in setting up places for people to gather and pray during this time.  Talk to your pastor, organize your own meeting, tell others in your network.  Prayer, as instructed by 2 Chronicles 7:14, is the only thing that can Heal the division in our country and unify us under God.

Following are some suggested Prayer Points as you lead your Prayer Time:

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV) 

• If My people….  Pray that believers in America will begin to understand the importance of prayer for our country and pray that we as believers will take back our role as influencers with respect to our government, our church and our famalies.

• Humble themselves… Pray for humility among the body of believers in our country….Pray that we would begin to understand that our country was founded on the principle that our trust in God and His provision and His protection have been the reason for this country’s power, prosperity and blessing. 

• Seek my face… Pray that we will seek God.  His wisdom,  His discernment and that God will give us the courage to stand up for the Biblical principles  that made this country great.

• Turn from their evil ways – Pray for repentance.  Pray that we will turn away from our sin as individuals and as a government and turn back to the creator of heaven and earth.

• Ask for Forgiveness – Pray that God will forgive us for these sins.

• Pray for Healing – Claim the promise that if we do these things,  God says that he will “heal our land”.

Men,

How many times have we read the above verse and have acknowledged its truth, and applied its instruction to our own nation, and yet never see this prayer happen, nor even try to encourage it, other than in small pockets?  Even though God is specific in His instruction and promise, we don't seem to get beyond saying, "What our nation needs is a revival, and then do nothing toward having that revival."  Well, I'm going to lead out and say that our nation doesn't need a revival.  The Church in this nation needs a revival.  The Body of Christ in this nation needs to embrace its sacred responsibility and come together in prayer for this nation.  Revival will happen as a result of this.  God's people should humble ourselves, pray and seek God's face, and turn from our own idols and wicked ways, and the divisiveness that lives in our hearts.  Our land needs healing, and I do not see any other way except that God heal it.  But, it must begin with His people … His Church.  As Influencers we are part of His Church, and if there is anything that is needed more by His Church in America than to follow the instructions given in the verse above, I do not know what it would be.  Can there be a greater mission of a ministry called Influencers, than to influence the Body of Christ in America to come together for prayer for this nation and for the Church at this critical time?

I have been so disturbed by what my children and grandchildren must face in their future in our great nation.  There is so much hate, and so much trouble and division in this land.  It is the byproduct of the Godlessness forced on us in our schools, government, and entertainment industry, as we the Church forgot to pray against it.  However, I believe there are less people influencing these attitudes and corruptions than we realize.  It is not the majority in this nation as the media would want us to believe, but a small minority of people who instigate these changes.  I believe there are many more people than they who want to have values and morality in this nation.  I believe there is a silent voice that wants to speak, and a large number of people who will agree to pray for this nation.  This minority of influencial people simply have the ability to blitz their message to a lot of people, because of the media.  But, don't we have the same capabilities through the internet?  It was this question that got me thinking that we can also be a small group of INFLUENCERS that blitzes our message across the internet to call God's people together for prayer for this nation.  Can we not be a catalyst to turn God's people back to Him in a critical time?  Somebody has to do it.

Brothers, my suggestion is we send out some sort of communication first to our data base, targeted to Influencers, and ask them to be part of the dispersion of this communication and being this catalyst for prayer.  In this communication we ask for a time of prayer and fasting a day or so before election day.  We could select a designated day and times at 12:00 noon Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific.  This would give us 4 hours of continuous prayer across this nation on that day.  We should also ask churches to open up for those people who would go there to pray, and promote this as a time of unified prayer.  We should ask business men and women to consider this as an appointment with God, and to find a private place to pray.  Homemakers and students could do the same.  Influencers could begin this message and ask that it be sent out to as many contacts as possible in Facebook accounts, email accounts, social networks, websites, tweets, and so on.  If we could, it would be good to have some kind of counter to get a feel for who is willing to join this ground swell of prayer.  I hear all the time that some things go "viral" on the internet.  Can you think of anything better than this invitation and response going viral, and to know that a large amount of Christians in this country will join in unified prayer at the same time to pray for the Church and this country?  Can we use our Influence to launch this men?
