God is Definitely Moving in the Women’s Ministry
120 ladies gathered last weekend in Little Rock, AR for the 2nd Women’s Global Summit in our history. The first Women’s Summit was three years ago, and it is amazing to see all that’s happened since then. All of our major regions were represented with ladies from Northwest Arkansas, Memphis, Bakersfield, Tulsa, Kansas, Michigan, Central Coast, Maine, and Atlanta. And there were contingencies of women from Rwanda, Costa Rica and Colombia.
The theme was “Calling Your Heart” but the blueprint for the weekend was based on Rocky’s book, The Prayer Cottage and the Sacred Garden. Much like we have seen at the men’s summits, there were powerful messages from the stage, praise and worship, extended times of prayer and breakout groups which helped make deeper connections among the ladies. The move of the Holy Spirit was palpable as the love and unity we had prayed for was on display for all to see.
Many of the ladies in regions who are newer to Women’s Journey Groups were motivated to connect and to begin building a base of connection of Journey women in their areas. Again, as we had prayed, God answered our prayers that this event might be a springboard for women’s leaders to emerge around the country and even in other countries.
In the coming months, the Global Board will be forming the Influencers Women Global Council, which will be a leadership team of women with representatives from all regions, who will serve the interests and needs of women, working in sync with our Global Board. This will be a more intentional way to support the growing women’s movement and our current and future regions.
God is again inviting us and expanding our vision. It is clear He wants His daughters to have an intimate, abiding relationship with Him. And given the prospect of our Journey Movie, we anticipate many more women will be brought to our ministry seeking to find this missing relationship in their lives.
