God’s International Plan for Influencers

It has been fascinating to watch this ministry grow in ways we never expected.  What started out as a process to help make disciples of businessmen in the South has now become a worldwide discipleship ministry for men and women of all different cultures.  It makes sense when you understand that we are simply a faithful ministry to point people to Jesus and Jesus is the One who said, “Go make disciples of ALL nations.”  It is in God’s heart for us to help more than just the United States.

We have experimented with different approaches to bringing our process to other countries and even in multiple languages, going back to 2007.  These have all been worthy opportunities, and we did see some fruit, but it doesn’t appear the efforts were sustainable.  We see now that in those other instances, we did not have a Champion who was called, passionate and understood our ministry and our process.

However, in the last 5 years, we have seen amazing results in Costa Rica and Rwanda that have helped us understand a model that works.  These key components were present in both countries, and we feel we see this as a pathway to many other countries.

1. God raised up a bi-lingual person who had a passion for discipleship, who became a Champion for that country.
2. This international champion and in some cases, a few other bi-lingual people from that country, went through a Virtual Journey Group, led by American Guides.
3. After Commencement, the Champion and/or Team started leading Journey groups in their home country.
4. In Rwanda and Costa Rica, Influencers helped support these efforts with Guide Mentoring, Translation work and Curriculum distribution.
5. In both countries, the in-country Journey groups have proven to carry the Influencers DNA and they have born much fruit of transformation and reproduction.

Influencers Costa Rica has exploded in such a way that it could now be called Influencers Latin America as it has spread to other countries nearby, not to mention Cuba.  Influencers Rwanda has started with the highly educated, English-speaking urban Rwandans, but these strong spiritual leaders have a vision to bring The Journey to the whole country, which is why we translated The Journey into Kinyarwandan.  In both countries, the women have also joined the movement, which has added Women’s groups and Couples groups.  They have also been very winsome with the local church, helping many hungry pastors find a tool to give their congregations what they have been searching for. 

Based on the excitement and anointing we have witnessed in these two countries, we are inspired to be bolder in our international discipleship efforts.  We are going to explore ways to spread our message through social media and the Bible app to many more countries.  We need your help, Influencers.
