Day Nine

A Good Man

Scripture:

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24 KJV

Thought:

“A good man” might be best described as “God’s man or woman, or a man or woman of God.”  It is this person who has a path in life established for him or her by God.  This promise is to this person.  Yes, we will stumble sometime.  A stumble will happen and when it happens a man or woman of God will be upheld by the Lord before they are utterly cast down.

The person who thinks he or she is God’s man or woman should live in accordance with those things that please the Lord.  There is a difference in a stumble and the practice of a sin.  Let this person not confuse the difference or the consequence that falls on them, if they practice those things that offend God.

Application:

I want to always be conscious of anything that causes me to stumble.  I want to avoid those places.  I want God to delight in me.  This is more important to me than anything that my sense of manhood and ego or self-worth might think it needs.  My walk with Christ is the most important decision I make every day, for it is there that my life is right.

Savior how I thank You for allowing me to walk with You.  Holy Spirit I ask You to lead me in every aspect of my life.  I ask this in Jesus name.
